Michael R. Dunham, Of Counsel
Dunham joined Cohan Law Group in 2013 after spending his entire legal career with the law firm of Gibson, Deal, Fletcher and Dunham, P.C. (formerly Gibson, Deal and Fletcher, P.C.), first as a law clerk, then as an associate, and for the last four years of his tenure there, as a partner and member of the firm.
Dunham's experience includes litigation in the areas of landlord-tenant law (including dispossessory/eviction cases), domestic relations law (divorce, alimony, child custody, child support, modification, and adoption cases), business and commercial litigation (breach of contract, vendor and customer disputes, collection claims, guaranty defense, "business divorces", etc.), and claims under the Georgia Resolution of Construction Defects Act. Dunham has also written and lectured extensively on landlord-tenant law, including the publication of his book for non-lawyers, "A Brief Guide to Georgia Evictions", in August 2012, as well as maintaining an active blog at www.GeorgiaEvictionBook.com.
Dunham earned his Juris Doctorate from Emory University School of Law in 2002, and Dunham also holds a Master's degree in Economics from the University of Alabama. A current and former small business owner, entrepreneur, and educator, Dunham also networks extensively and frequently finds himself mentoring other business owners in small (and not-so-small) ways.
Dunham is an Eagle Scout, is active in several leadership roles at East Cobb United Methodist Church in Marietta, and is a frequent attendee of the American Bar Association's "TechShow", a national legal technology conference.
