Biography

Robin L. Gentry's practice focuses on complex litigation with an emphasis on intellectual property. She has extensive experience having litigated hundreds of cases in federal and state trial and appellate courts.

Robin is a graduate of Western Michigan University with a B.A. in anthropology. She earned her J.D. at Wayne State University of Law in 2001 where she graduated magna cum laude and was a member of The Wayne State Law Review and Moot Court.

Ms. Gentry's experience includes all areas of intellectual property litigation, including copyright, trademark, trade dress, trade secret and patent cases. Ms. Gentry's trademark cases have involved both large and small businesses, as well as individuals, in numerous fields including dentless car repair, HVAC services, tobacco products, personal protection and security, team building services and scavenger hunts. Ms. Gentry's copyright experience includes cases involving a major public university and businesses in fields as diverse as the music industry, the clothing industry and computer software. She has extensive experience in cases involving the useful article doctrine and the fair use doctrine. Ms. Gentry has been involved in numerous patent actions involving a wide spectrum of technologies and industries, including medical devices, pharmaceuticals, antimicrobial agents, electronic programming guides, hand-held electronic devices, incentive reward programs, avionics, vehicular telematics, and commercial floor coverings. Ms. Gentry is involved in all aspects of litigation, at both the trial and appellate level, including pretrial preparation, trial work and has extensive trial and appellate level writing experience. She has also successfully resolved disputes through mediation. Additionally, Ms. Gentry has litigated Section 337 actions before the International Trade Commission and regularly litigates trademark opposition and cancellation proceedings in the Trademark Office. Ms. Gentry's intellectual property practice also includes anti-piracy litigation for satellite television providers. Ms. Gentry is admitted to practice in Georgia and has appeared in numerous federal courts across the nation.
